After they will drive for about 75 minutes to Rome where our first stop will be the “Gianicolo hill” from where you can admire one of the most beautiful overwiews of the eternal city of Rome.
After driving to downtown where their next stop will be the Capitoline hill (one of Rome’s seven hills) and the Piazza Venezia where the monument of Victor Emanuel II is located.
they will also be introduced to the Ancient Rome of Emperors and the famous Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Rome, and the Colosseum, one of the world’s most famous buildings and a symbol of the city. Take in the site where ancient Rome’s people came to watch gladiators and other spectacles, before continuing on to see Palatine Hill and Circus Maximus.
they will pass by several other attractions that their English speaking chauffeur will point out to them such as Castle St. Angelo and its bridge, the Italian Senate, The Marble Foot and Cat Street (Roman Curiosity), Trajan’s Column, Imperial Fora, Trajan’s Market, The Maps of the Empire, Arch of Constantine, Marcus Aurelius’s Column, Parliament and Council of Ministers, St. Nicholas in Chains, temples of Apollo, Vesta and Janus, Panthen, Trevi Fountain & Spanish steps.
At some point they will stop for lunch, which can either be a leisurely meal in a local restaurant or a snack at a coffee shop (if they want to be quick!). their English speaking chauffeur/guide will always be ready to suggest some convenient places in the neighbourhood, and enjoys taking his visitors to quaint
little restaurants where they will get an authentic atmosphere of Rome.
Of course, their escort is entirely flexible – if there is a special place that they want to see, just let him know!
Right after lunch our last stop will be the St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world. Take some time to admire Michelangelo’s “Pieta” and the beautiful Bernini Pulpit, before continuing on to the sites of Renaissance and Baroque Rome of Popes. On request a Guided authorized tour of the Vatican and the Sistine chapel.
Back to Civitavecchia by 5.00pm.
This tour is conduct by an english speaking driver/guide that will not enter sites but will give running commentaries of what are you seeing and gives you enough time to visit each site.
